Results of a survey done by an activist organization against having private cars on the roads, answered by its followers, who are against cars and probably don't even own cars: Even 40% of focused activists are AGAINST tolling.
Hank, thanks for stopping by to comment. Neither TST nor the Tribune surveys used scientific sampling. But TST's survey reached 25% more people and 22% more zip codes than the Trib's. We were transparent about our biases, shared relevant information, and really sought to learn from respondents. Our results were mixed and wide-ranging, about which we were also transparent.
We sought to provide rich, accurate feedback from (a non-random sample of) the public, which I believe we accomplished. This type of thoughtful conversation, which actually enagages complexity and diversity of thought on issues, is what our community needs right now, not divisive, black and white rhetoric. Thanks for reading our Substack!

Great way to get more people to leave Portland. Use gas taxes and build roads!
This Oregonian is not in favor of tolling in any way, shape or form.
